CGPA to Percentage Calculator
Turn a CGPA on the 10-point scale into a percentage, using your university’s conversion factor.
Percentage
Universities use different conversion factors, so check your own university’s rule before using this figure officially.
How it works
Percentage = CGPA × conversion factor
Worked example: a CGPA of 8.6 with the common factor of 9.5 gives 8.6 × 9.5 = 81.7%.
Frequently asked questions
Why is 9.5 the default factor?
Many Indian universities, including CBSE-affiliated institutions, use 9.5 to convert a 10-point CGPA to a percentage. It is a common default, not a universal rule.
What if my university uses a different factor?
Change the factor field to your university’s number and the percentage updates at once. Some universities use 10, others use their own formula entirely.
Can a CGPA above 10 be converted?
No — this calculator is for the 10-point scale, so CGPA runs from 0 to 10. A percentage above 100 would mean the inputs are on a different scale.
