Savings Goal Calculator
How much do you need to save each month to reach your target?
Monthly saving needed
How it works
Without interest: monthly = (goal − saved) ÷ months With interest: monthly = (goal − saved × (1 + i)^n) × i ÷ ((1 + i)^n − 1), i = annual rate ÷ 12
Worked example: a ₹1,00,000 goal with ₹20,000 already saved and 12 months left needs (₹1,00,000 − ₹20,000) ÷ 12 = ₹6,667 a month at 0% interest.
Frequently asked questions
What if I have already saved more than the goal?
Then the monthly amount is ₹0 — you have reached it. The calculator says so plainly instead of showing a negative saving.
Should I include interest on my savings?
If your money earns interest, enter the annual rate and the monthly figure drops a little. At 0% the answer is the simple, cautious version.
What if I miss a month?
Re-enter the months left and the amount saved so far. The monthly figure rises to cover the missed month, which is exactly the trade-off to see.
